Who is collecting information from me?

What personal information will SEW collect from me?

If you are simply visiting a SEW site we will only collect what is logged by our web server. These include web pages you visit, your IP, what site you were visiting before coming to a SEW, etc. This is standard information collected by almost all websites and web servers. If you attempt to bypass or hack our security protocols our systems will collect additional information about you.

If you sign up for one of our many lists we will only collect your name, e-mail address, country and age group, in addition to the information above.

What are Cookies?

“Cookies” are files stored on your computer’s hard drive by your browser. These cookies help us identify our account holders and optimize their shopping experience. They do not include any data that will identify you personally. They will, however, allow you to use some specialized features. Cookies also allow us to hold selections in your shopping cart when you leave our site without checking out. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but allow you to disable them if you wish.

We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads on our behalf. These companies may employ cookies and action tags (also known as single pixel gifs or web beacons) to measure advertising effectiveness. How will SEW use the information I provide?

This depends on the information provided to us. If you simply visit our site we will use the information gathered by our logs to determine the following: (much as possible):
o Where our traffic is coming from and what site was the visitor viewing prior to ours?
o What parts of our site is/are popular and where are people visiting?
o What keywords are being used, in search engines, to find our sites?
o Where visitors are going once they leave our site?
o Why are people leaving our site? (If possible)
o Other traffic related questions

These are standard questions all internet companies ask when reviewing their logs. Your information will be used along with all other visitors, to our site, to determine our traffic patterns. Information collected during attempted security breaches may be used to locate the violator and if necessary turned over to law enforcement officials for prosecution. In addition, we may use such information for our own lawsuits against violators and/or to protect ourselves from lawsuits.

SEW is not responsible for what third parties services do with their information.

Who else will have access to the information collected by SEW?

Individuals within SEW and consultants with SEW have access to different levels of information. Only high level officials, server administrators and database administrators have board access, which is unavoidable due to the nature of their jobs. In all cases they understand the level of sensitivity and are fully aware of punishment for abusing such privileges.

The information collected will NOT be sold or revealed to third parties, unless ordered by a court of law with legal jurisdiction over such information. However, at times, we may use generic information for marketing or other internal purposes. An example of this generic information would be informing a partner we had 5,000 unique hits last month. We would not reveal any specific user information but collective sums. Nor would any third party be allowed to browse our records.

What about the web sites that SEW sites link to?

Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are ‘clicking’ to another Web site. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of these linked sites, as their privacy policies may differ from ours.

SEW sites are called affiliate / content sites. Content means that the site is primarily informative. Affiliate means that when you click on a link to another where you can get information or purchase a product. Those web sites collect data about your visit. SEW is not responsible for what or how that data is used.

Is it possible to choose which information is collected, how is used and who will see it?

Our clients do have some control over what information will be collected. This includes personal names, email addresses, country and age group. However certain information is automatically collected. This includes IP addresses, web browser and OS of visitor/client, time of visit, where user is visiting from and where visitor/client goes after visiting our sites.

The only parties who will see the client’s information are authorized personal of SEW, the client and any one else the client grants access to his/her information. In the event SEW starts a program of allowing third parties to directly contact clients by e-mail this would only occur in an opt-in opt-out setting. Such outside contacting seems highly unlikely, as SEW believes in protecting our clients’ trust and privacy.

How can a client update his/her information?

If a user signs up for an e-zine newsletter SEW provides the ability to update your email address by unsubscribing to the e-zine newsletter and then resubmitting a request to receive the e-zine newsletter.

Can a client remove his/her information from SEWsystems?

SEW allows users unsubscribe to an e-zine newsletter at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the e-zine newsletter that they have received.

From time to time errors do occur. Should a client request to be removed from a service or completely from our systems and still receive contact we ask the client to promptly contact us and SEW will investigate the matter. Once the error is terminated we will remove the client’s information and take the necessary steps to help prevent the error from reoccurring.

SEW does keep emails for our records that have been removed by our clients to protect against fraud and lawsuits.

In the event SEW offers our clients deals, specials or promotions with third parties and client accepts such an offer then wants to terminate service with the third party it is up to the client to contact and work with this party.

How will you know when our policy changes?
We reserve the right to change this privacy policy at any time. If and when we do the day, date, year and time will be posted on this page.
